Matrix is the division of Seitel, Inc. responsible
for processing raw data acquired in the field before it is delivered to
the end-user for interpretation on a workstation. It is a critical link
in the exploration chain. Customers must have complete confidence
in the quality and integrity of our processed data because it forms the
foundation of their interpretative analysis. Put simply, million dollar
decisions rest on the reliability of our processing work.
Control
Many companies farm out processing work which can lead to developing inconsistencies in their product. Seitel, however, is one of only a few data management companies to have data processing capabilities in-house. It is indicative of the company's complete commitment to controlling the quality of its data product at every step.
Experience
Data of course is only as good as the people processing it. The Seitel Matrix staff boasts a cumulative 200 years of 2D and 3D on-shore seismic processing experience.
Technology
We have at our disposal one of the largest PC clusters, in the industry,
dedicated to the processing of onshore seismic data. This PC Cluster is
employed primarily for the purpose of pre-stack time migration - our most
commonly requested product.
